Senate approves guns in cars on college campuses

AUSTIN, Texas (AP) - Texas college students who are licensed to carry concealed handguns would be allowed to keep their guns locked in their cars in campus parking lots under a bill advancing in the Legislature.

A look at the victims in the Texas plant explosion

WEST, Texas (AP) - On April 17, a massive explosion at a fertilizer plant in West, Texas, leveled part of that small town located some 20 miles north of Waco. Most of the victims were first responders from fire departments in West and other nearby towns that were on the scene trying to control the fire that preceded the blast.

Obama order flags flown at half-staff in Texas

WASHINGTON (AP) - President Barack Obama has ordered that the U.S. flag at federal buildings and military facilities in Texas be flown at half-staff Thursday in memory of the victims who died in the fertilizer plant explosion last week in the town of West, Texas.
