OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) - A study by the Economic Policy Institute says Oklahoma lost more than 15,000 jobs between 2001 and 2007 because of the U.S. trade deficit with China.

The study was conducted for the Alliance of American Manufacturing and says Congress and the Bush administration should make sure China honors its trade commitments.

Joe Epperly with the Oklahoma Manufacturing Alliance says job losses during the time studied were caused by manufacturers moving their production overseas.

Epperly says the number of manufacturing jobs in Oklahoma is rebounding after declining in the first five years of the decade.

He says manufacturing jobs fell from 170,000 in 2000 to 135,000 in 2005 but the number is now back up to 150,000 jobs.
