OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) - A four-alarm fire destroyed part of a building that used to house one of Oklahoma City's all-black schools.

Firefighers responded to the blaze at the former Truman Elementary School about 4 p.m. Sunday. Oklahoma City Fire District Chief Brian Stanaland says crews never were able to enter the building because of the intense flames.

The school closed in 1987. Oklahoma City Public Schools spokeswoman Kathleen Kennedy says the building had been vacant for
more than 20 years.

Firefighters did not immediately determine the cause of the fire, although neighbors reported seeing teenagers running from the boarded-up building after setting off fireworks.
