TULSA, Okla. (AP) - Former space shuttle astronaut John Herrington is heading a group trying to land a retired NASA space shuttle for the Tulsa Air and Space Museum.
A native of Wetumka and a member of a Space Shuttle Endeavour flight to the International Space Station in 2002, Herrington will chair a committee commissioned by the museum.
Tulsa's museum is one of 20 being considered by NASA to receive one of the three space shuttles set to retire in 2010.
