TULSA, Okla. (AP) - A Catoosa business owner has been arrested
after Tulsa police say he tried to hire an undercover officer to kill his wife.
Police say 55-year-old Stephen Bowen was arrested about 9:45 p.m. Monday on a complaint of soliciting first-degree murder. He was being held Tuesday in the Tulsa jail on a $100,000 bond.
Charges have not been filed, and it is unknown if Bowen has retained an attorney.
Police spokesman Jason Willingham says Bowen offered the undercover officer $10,000 to kill his wife and planned to stage a home invasion robbery.
Police say Bowen and the officer met Monday evening at a convenience store, where they discussed details of the crime. Bowen
was arrested as he left the store.
