DAVIS, Okla. (AP) - A Turner Falls Park official says a Dallas teenager has died after diving into shallow water.

Park Manager Tom Graham says 18-year-old Alexander Olvera dove into Honey Creek about 10:45 a.m. Sunday. When Olvera did not resurface, his family called for help.

Lifeguards from a nearby swimming area and family members performed CPR on the teen before paramedics arrived. Olvera was
pronounced dead at a Sulphur hospital.

He was the sixth person to drown in an Oklahoma body of water during the Independence Day holiday weekend. Two people drowned at
Lake Thunderbird in Norman, while one person each drowned in Lake
Texoma in Marshall County, Lake Altus-Lugert in Kiowa County and
Lake Murray near Ardmore.
