GUYMON, Okla. (AP) - Authorities arrested 12 people after raiding an illegal horse racing operation in Texas County.

About 50 law enforcement officers from various local, state and federal agencies raided the private racetrack north of Guymon on
Sunday.

Guymon police spokesman Jason Bond says the racetrack previously belonged to a man who privately raced thoroughbred horses for a
living.

Authorities think the races started around 3 p.m. and patrons were charged admission to enter the racing grounds. He says beer also was sold.

Texas County Sheriff Rick Caddell says the illegal operation had been under investigation for a year.

Authorities seized vehicles, horse trailers, cash, electronic equipment and 19 horses.
