Durant man in custody facing murder charges for half-brother's stabbing death
DURANT, OK -- Durant Police say a man was stabbed to death early Sunday morning by his half-brother. Police say the stabbing took place in the suspect's front yard.

DURANT, OK --Durant Police say a man was stabbed to death early Sunday morning by his half-brother. Police say the stabbing took place in the suspect's front yard at 624 NE 4th in Durant.

According to Durant Police, 23-year old Brandon Tyree and his half-brother, 20-year old Jimmy Paul Long, Jr. were involved in an altercation when Long went inside of his home and grabbed a large kitchen knife. Police say Long then stabbed his half-brother Brandon Tyree once in the abdomen. Tyree was taken to a local hospital where he died around 3 a.m.

Durant Police say Tyree was conscious when they arrived on scene and confirmed it was Long who stabbed him. Long was arrested and has been booked into the Bryan County Jail. Durant Police say Long faces 1st degree murder and domestic assault charges.
