OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) - About 150 full-time workers for the Oklahoma Senate could be furloughed as early as June.
Senate President Pro Tem Glenn Coffee says he is considering implementing 12 furlough days for all employees once the session ends in May.
The Oklahoma City Republican says Senate leaders already have cut back on office supplies, eliminated copiers and implemented a freeze on most out-of-state travel.
The Senate has an annual budget of about $15 million.
Coffee says his salary can't be cut because it would require a constitutional change.
House Speaker Chris Benge says there currently are no plans to furlough House staffers.
