OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) - The chief medical examiner for the state of Oklahoma has been fired after less than nine months on the job.
The state Board of Medicolegal Investigations met in executive session for about an hour Friday before voting 5-0 to terminate Dr. Collie M. Trant immediately.
Trant, 61, had been put on paid leave Monday for unspecified reasons. The board did not say Friday why Trant was terminated.
His attorney, Scott Adams, said Trant plans to file suit to get his job back.
Trant did not attend Friday's meeting.
