TULSA, Okla. (AP) - A plan by Tulsa Public Schools' chief
financial officer would cut 225 teaching jobs to save nearly $9.7
million.
CFO Trish Williams says the district faces a 10 percent cut in
state funding next year - a loss of about $13 million to $15
million. The district has had about $7 million in state funding
cuts since August because of falling state revenue collections
during the economic downturn.
The plan will be presented to the Tulsa school board. The board
is already scheduled to vote Monday on a proposal to eliminate 173
central office and support jobs to save about $5.5 million.
