OKLAHOMA CITY,OK (AP) - Travelers in downtown Oklahoma City will notice an important change this week.
City officials say a block of Walker Avenue between Reno and Sheridan will make the switch from one-way to two-way traffic on Monday. Officials say the change is aimed at providing easier access to downtown businesses.
Eventually, the rest of Walker and other downtown streets will transition to two-way traffic.
Public Works Director Eric Wenger says Oklahoma City is at the peak of construction with Project 180 and the conversion will assist with improving the traffic flow.
The conversion is funded through the tax increment financing as part of the Project 180 redesign of downtown streets.
