Seared Ahi Tuna Salad with Sesame Soy Dressing
4 6-8oz Tuna Steaks
Salt and Pepper
3 tbsp Toasted Sesame Seeds
2 tbsp Rice vinegar
2 tbsp Sesame Oil
4 tbsp Soy Sauce
2 tbsp Sugar
2 tbsp Lemon Juice
1/2 tsp crushed red pepper
2 lbs fresh Spinach
1 can Mandarin oranges
1/4 cup diced red onion
2 Avocados
Tuna:
Season tuna with salt, pepper, and 2 tbsp toasted sesame seeds. Heat a
skillet over medium-high heat with 2 tbsp olive oil and sear tuna for 1
min on each side.
Dressing:
In mixing bowl combine vinegar, sesame oil, soy sauce, sugar, lemon juice,
crushed red pepper. Mix until all ingredients are combined.
Finish:
On four separate plates split spinach, onions, oranges, and avocado.
Thinly slice tuna against the grain and place on top of spinach mix.
Drizzle dressing over each salad making sure to coat all spinach but not
drench with dressing. Sprinkle with remaining sesame seeds.
