1 pkg. Oreos (any flavor you want)
1 8oz. pkg Cream Cheese
1 pkg. Semi Sweet Chocolate Chips (or any chocolate you want for the coating)
Let cream cheese come to room temperature. In a food processor, chop Oreos to a desirable texture. You can have the mix as fine or chunky as you would like. Putting the Oreos in a ziplock baggie and crushing the cookies works just as good too, just a little more elbow grease. Next, stir in cream cheese with the cookie crumble. You want it mixed well enough to where someone won’t get a chunk of cream cheese when they bite into the truffle.
Next, take a melon scooper or spoon and create your desired size for the truffle and scoop it onto a tray with wax paper so that the frozen balls are easy to remove later. Stick the tray in the freezer for at least 45 minutes so that the truffles have a chance to harden, this will make covering them in chocolate easier.
Before taking the truffles out of the freezer, you need to melt your chocolate for the shell. In a microwave safe bowl, microwave your chocolate chips about 20 seconds at a time and stir often until the chips are melted into a creamy blend.
For the last (and fun) step, take your frozen truffle and roll it in the melted chocolate. You can use a spoon, forks, or whatever tool to easily do this. Fingers work too but just a little messy. After covering the frozen ball, place back onto the tray with the wax paper and it takes just a few minutes for the shell to harden.
If you want to decorate your truffles, it’s best to stick your sprinkles or candies on it while the chocolate is still soft. Drizzling white or colored chocolate on top is great too! Just melt the chocolate in the microwave.
