Chicken Fried Steak

  • Tenderized beef (how much is up to you)
  • 1 tablespoon salt
  • 1 tablespoon pepper
  • 6 cups flour
  • 6 eggs
  • 1-48 oz. can of Crisco
  • 1 cup whole milk
  • 1/2 quart whole buttermilk

In a large pan, melt Crisco over medium-high heat. Wash the beef steaks and set aside. You will need three shallow pans for the next step. In the first pan, pour flour and salt and pepper. Stir flour until salt and pepper are combined. In the second shallow pan, pour both milk and buttermilk together. Third pan, beat the eggs and pour into the pan. Take one steak, cut in half if desired, and soak in the milk mixture for 1 minute. Secondly, dip steak into flour. Shake off extra flour. Lastly, dip steak into egg. Be sure and coat well on both sides. Drop steak into hot grease. Cook for 3-4 minutes. The steak is done when it floats to the top. Brown for another minute. Remove steak and place on a paper towel to drain off grease.
