Pepper Poppers

Ingredients


  • 1/4 tsp. chili powder
  • 1/4 tsp. garlic powder
  • 1/4 tsp. salt
  • 1/2 cup dry bread crumbs
  • 1 (8oz.) pkg. cream cheese
  • 1 cup (4oz.) shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1 cup shredded monterey jack cheese
  • 1 lb. fresh jalapenos, halved lengthwise and seeded
  • 6 strips bacon, cooked and crumbled
  • sour cream, onion dip or ranch salad dressing

    Directions

    Combine cheeses, bacon and seasonings in a bowl and mix well. Spoon about 2 tablespoons of mixture into each pepper half. Roll in bread crumbs. Place in a greased 10" X 15" baking pan. Bake uncovered at 300 degrees for 20 minutes for spicy flavor, 30 minutes for medium and 40 minutes for mild. Serve with sour cream, dip or dressing. Yield: About 2 dozen.
