The campaign "Turn Around, Don't Drown" continues across Texoma to warn you that low water crossings are serious business. Ryan Loyd has the details in this Safe Family report.

“Turn Around, Don't Drown” is a slogan you should remember at all times- not just when storms blow through. It applies to even the lighter rain that we saw across Texoma on Tuesday.

According to the National Weather Service, each year more deaths occur because of flooding than any other thunderstorm related hazard. That’s because people underestimate the force that water has when a flooding situation occurs on the roads.

Most flash floods are caused by these slow moving systems and aren't always the result of heavy rain that falls within a short amount of time.

It doesn't matter if you're in a car or walking; if you come to a section of the road that's under water, do the smart thing: turn around, don't drown.

If that was light rain today, I would hate to see what it's like when it's heavy.

If they don't drown, HANG THEM....out to dry.
