Ardmore, OK - Halloween festivities have started across Texoma, from community festivals to haunted houses. With all the fun afoot, law enforcement wants to make sure you have a safe night.

Getting candy and dressing up as your character of choice can be fun for both children and adults. But like every year safety precautions should always be taken.

It's a night filled with spooky delight and wonderful fright, and your occasional Frankenstein and raggedy Ann. This Halloween some of Ardmore's finest have some safety tips on how to make tomorrow night safe for your trick-or-treaters.

"This year with the flu and everything, anything, you really want to examine it and wash it if possible and make sure we don't get any germs passed form household to household,” said Clyde Ellis, Ardmore Fire Marshal.

Safety of health is always important, but as for physical safety, Ardmore Fire Marshal Clyde Ellis says to only trick-or-treat in well lit areas and don't go into houses. He always recommends that you wear light costumes and try to set up an eating schedule.

"So they won't just gorge themselves and get too much sugar,” explained Ellis.

Corporal Bobby Moore of the Ardmore Police department says officers will have extra patrol cars out to make sure your All Hallows eEve runs smoothly.

"It's a normal Halloween, kids should go out and have fun, enjoy themselves, get candy but also be mindful that there is danger out and about,” said Moore.
