DENISON, Tex. -- Some teachers at Terrell Elementary in Denison were dressed to impress Wednesday.

Four male teachers dressed…as women. The principal, coach, a teacher, and a volunteer promised to dress in drag if the kids raised $500 for Relay for Life.

The principal says the kids went above and beyond, raising more than $3,000.

The principal says they are not sure what they will do as incentive for next year's relay, but he says this reward definitely upped the ante.

As is usual, Dr. Kirkbride and his staff use their creativity and their willingness to look silly to motivate their kids. Denison is very lucky to have a prinicipal and staff that love their kids enough to do more than is expected of them. Way to go Terrell Tigers!

Does the word "abomination" mean anything to you??? See Deuteronomy 22:5!!!

I cannot believe that male authority figures in a public school would consider this an appropriate incentive. Good grief! No wonder so many young people have "identity" issues! "Drag" queens are lowlife's of society. I can't imagine any upstanding male citizen wanting to mimick one!

This is awesome!! I remember back when I was in elementary even in all the way up to HS our male teachers would do things like that to get us motivated to raise money for a good cause, wether it was for RFL or donating our blood to the blood bank. And of course we always won! Im glad to see that teachers like that are still around to do silly things like this...

You make us proud Dr. Kirkbride! Thanks for going above and beyond to encourage the kids to reach for success!!
