Just one day after making a plea deal in the courtroom, Justin Pitrucha has been dismissed from the Southeastern football team for the entire season.

Pitrucha was one of five people arrested for marijuana possession back in April. He had his day in court yesterday, resulting in probation and no jail time. That appeared to be the first step toward being reinstated to the team. But Southeastern decided today to part ways with their signal caller. Pitrucha missed all of the 2007 season due to academic reasons. He will now miss all of 2008 following this incident.

Here is the Official SOSU Statement Regarding Justin Pitrucha:

After reviewing the situation concerning Justin Pitrucha, we have determined that he will not be a member of the football program at Southeastern Oklahoma State University this year.

This was a very difficult decision and one that was not taken lightly. We certainly wish Justin the best and are confident that he will be successful in his future endeavors.

At Southeastern, we hold our student-athletes to very high standards and expectations. The bottom line is that we have acted in what we believe to be the best interests of our student-athletes, our program and our university.

Mr Puff, WOW. You are the poster boy for idiots. This guy not only got caught, but it was within a school zone!! HOW DUMB CAN YOU BE?? Plus, I would rather still be paying for my car and working a REAL JOB rather than having to constantly look over my shoulder.

Funny that you don't hear about any other football players when they get arrested for drugs. Someone should do some research and see who else has court charges pending.

Was this decision about dismissing Pitrucha made before or after Bo White decided he didn't want to stand on the sidelines at OU, and decided to take his scholarship at SOSU??

Pucktrucha is done! SOSU has a new QB coming back home, BO WHITE!

you guys are missing it they reported that..he will not be a memeber of the football program this year no where it is stated that he was dimissed from the college..it is probably due to all the bad press that sosu was recieving over this situation..but i bet my bottom dollar that this guy will be the starting Qb for sosu next year...since his probabtion will be over with before the start of next year (this is if he doesn't screw up again..write it down you heard it here first this guy WILL be back on the team next year..

He looks like a nice young man. I don't think he really did it.

Posted by: Anonymous on Aug 10, 2008 at 05:27 PM

Where is the accounability, this young man needs to do jail time, and should never be allowed to play football again In fact he should be expelled from College. Any wonder this country is going down the tubes, there is either minimal accountability or none. I guess the truth is once again"MONEY" must have played a part. I can't believe that the director of athletics, stated that it was hard decision to remove tis selfish stupid young man from the team for only one season... In my book it would have been an immediate decision to remove him totally. He chose the offense, he deserves nothing.! What the heck is wrong with the parents, take a good look USA, take a good look as to what you are raising....

Cheech and Puff, really clever names by the way, I'm sure your mothers are very proud! How damn stupid can you possibly be? You two have smoked yourselves retarded! First of all, no one is advocating the consumption of alcohol and no one is advocating drinking and driving, but to compare alcohol to marijuana is just ridiculous! Alcohol is legal in this country, remember? Also, you can still recieve a DUI for driving after you've smoked your latest bowl. People are killed every year on this nation's highways by people just like you who think that marijuana has no ill effects. The fact is, THC alters all of your senses and your perception of time and space. Do you still think it's safe to drive after smoking? Other side effects that you seem to be unaware of are the inability to use the correct grammar and punctuation and the inability to spell even the simplest of words correctly, like "very" for example. I hope you're smoking your car payment, I'd hate to meet either of you on the road!

Mr. Puff, obviously your parents didnt do a very good job of raising you because not every person on this earth smokes pot and/or drinks. You are obviously a pothead yourself!! Yes pot is bad and does impair judgement just as alcohol does so all of you potheads trying to get pot legalized, get a life and live it legally!

Posted by: cheech Location: everywhere on Aug 9, 2008 at 12:25 PM
It is not nearly as dangerous for a person to smoke pot as it is for somebody to drink a six pack and then drive. When I was in high school all of the players either drank or smoked pot. You should really look up NORML on the web, if you are telling yourself pot is bad. Hell look at Willy Nelson, he was proud of what he was up to. We are the generation of drug use, but we are still not as bad as the seventies.

some of you people are not verry smart wondering why sosu wouldnt release him off the team till now. until he was convicted they couldnt. when he was, he was released pretty quick. remember..... the gallons of alcohol you drink is way more devistating than pot. alcohol KILLS its happened in my family. i dont drink because i know its about 100 times more deadly than pot. get a clue people!! if you HAD to choose would you want a kid to be drinking and driving or smoking and driving because one of them is going to happen. we are young!!! so which one do you want? think realistically and dont say NEITHER because we all know thats NOT heppening!!!!

Anon, guess what- it's still illegal to posses the stuff. He violated the llaw, was found guilty, and the SOSU coach saw fit to boot him off the team. By the way, how's that convenience store job working for you?

Posted by: SOSU Insider Location: Durant on Aug 9, 2008 at 02:53 AM
SOSU was waiting for the decision by the court so they could make the next move in kicking his worthless butt out on University St. Since he pled guilty, he hung himself and the team dismissed him! The only way he could have got back on the team was to be aquitted.

Posted by: Anonymous on Aug 8, 2008 at 10:42 PM
it was just a little pot people! like you haven't ever toked a little!

Posted by: LL Beaner Location: Texas on Aug 8, 2008 at 10:31 PM
Good for SOSU. Maybe this will make the others think before doing illegal stuff.

Thank you, I am so glad that it was decided that he could not be a part of the SOSU football team. I think it sends a positive message to others. I am glad that he has to be held accountable for his actions at least at the university. I would have been very upset if he had been allowed to come back to the team.

I'm glad I'm not the only person who thinks it is WRONG for a SOSU football player to be on probation for possession of marijuana!

Posted by: Anonymous Location: whitesboro on Aug 8, 2008 at 09:42 PM
Way to go SOSU! Now you have class!

Well, I guess the university still has some idea of right and wrong left within the administration/athletic department. I can't believe it took them this long to realize that this was the right thing to do...maybe they were waiting on the impending plea agreement. At any rate, while I don't believe that justice has been served, at least this idiot doesn't get to associate himself with my university anymore. I would prefer a jail term to go along with that but, I guess you don't always get what you want. I just hope that this guy doesn't have any further reason to hang around Durant because he's sure to end up back in court costing the citizens more money unless he miraculously changes. Frankly, I don't think that's very likely, especially if he's like dozens of self-centered, self-absorbed, arrogant, "the world owes me something" athletes that I've known. Mr. Baxter, I applaud your decision if it was indeed yours. You have my respect once again.
