NATCHITOCHES, La. – The Southeastern football team (1-4) suffered its worst loss since the 2001 season after Northwestern State (La.) (3-2) handed the Savage Storm a 63-12 loss on Saturday night in Natchitoches, La.

The 51 point margin of defeat was the most since Central Arkansas handed the Storm a 68-10 loss in the second game of the 2001 season.

The Demons amassed 339 yard rushing on 51 attempts and were led by Byron Lawrence who had 147 yards and a pair of scores. Sterling Endsley also added a pair of touchdowns.

SOSU’s two scores came on passes from Brandon McCain to Daniel Nichols, the first a 5-yard pass with 9:46 to play in the first half and the second 1:40 later on an 11-yard hookup.

Southeastern will be back in action Oct. 4 when it hosts Southwestern Oklahoma State in the Lone Star Conference North Division opener, while the Demons will host Nicholls State in its Southland Conference opener on Oct. 11.
