DURANT, OK – Southeastern (6-5, 4-1 LSC-N) scored 29 points in the fourth quarter to turn a 17-9 deficit into a 38-31 in the 92nd meeting between SE and rival East Central (Okla.) (3-8, 2-3 LSC-N) on Saturday afternoon at Paul Laird Field.
ECU took a 10-0 lead into halftime, but a Baylen Laury rushing TD in the third quarter and four Brandon McCain passing scores in the fourth powered the Savage Storm back into the contest.
McCain finished the night 18-of-35 passing for 300 yards and four touchdowns. He was also on the receiving end of the final two-point conversion on a pass from running back Baylen Laury that fashioned the 38-31 final score.
Daniel Nichols had five catches for 119 yards and two touchdowns.
ECU was led by running back Joshua Maldanado who rushed for 152 yards and three TD’s, while quarterback Marcus Johnson completed 25-of-40 passes for 256 and one score.
