The Southeastern football team began spring football practice with several returning players at many positions, just not at quarterback.
Ray Richards was able to get his first look at SMU transfer Logan Turner. He is the expected starter when the season opens. Turner transfered from the Mustangs after not fitting into June Jones' offensive plans.
Turner looked sharp in his first workout. He fired the ball all over the field, showing he can make all the throws in an offense that likes to put the football in the air.
Spring football continues all week. The first week will feature practices on March 23, 24, 26 and 27 at 3 p.m., with the final practice of the week on March 28 at 9 a.m.

Week three features practice on Tuesday and a Thursday afternoon scrimmage, both at 3 p.m.
The final week of practice has 3 p.m. slots on Tuesday and Thursday, April 14 and 16, with the spring culminating with a 3 p.m. scrimmage on Saturday, April 18.
