Bomar drafted by NY Giants in Round 5

NEW YORK, NY - Former Sam Houston State and University of Oklahoma quarterback Rhett Bomar has been selected by the New York Giants on Day 2 of the 2009 NFL Draft.

The Giants picked Bomar with the 151st overal pick of the draft. Bomar spent the last two season with the Bearkats after transferring from OU back in 2006.

While at SHSU, Bomar became the school's all-time leader in total offense with 6,159 yards and last year, he finished second in the Football Championship Subdivision with 354.2 total yards per game.

Over the past couple of months, Bomar has competed in the Senior Bowl and worked out for various teams including the Dallas Cowboys and New England Patriots.

He is expected to compete for a back-up spot behind Eli Manning

    Oh wahhhh! He was/is a great quarterback! I'm sure you are perfect, but most of the rest of us have made a few mistakes, learn from it and go on with life!

    Bomar shouldn't even be associated with the Sooners.
