East Central University’s volleyball team dropped a 3-0 decision to Southeastern Oklahoma State in a non-conference meeting Tuesday night at Bloomer Sullivan Arena.
It was the second meeting this season between the Lady Tigers and Savage Storm. The first time the two teams met, SOSU came away with a 3-2 decision in Ada in a match, which counted in the Lone Star Conference standings.
In Tuesday’s play, the Savage Storm earned a 25-20 decision in the first set, rolled to a 25-12 win in the second and capped play with a 25-20 triumph in the third.
Senior setter Holly Hicks posted seven kills, 13 assists and nine digs to lead the ECU effort as she also had a .353 hitting percentage. Jacqueline Sparks led the Lady Tigers with nine kills and Megan Kimak topped the team with 11 digs.
Also for ECU, Katy Fields finished with seven kills and seven digs. Shayla May contributed 13 assists in a losing cause.
For SOSU (19-10), Jordan Jesberg led the way with 14 kills and 10 digs and Lunden Azuara finished with 13 kills. Raelyn Beaty had a game-leading 17 digs.
The Lady Tigers (13-15) return to LSC play this weekend with a pair of road matches. ECU visits Eastern New Mexico for an 8 p.m. (CDT) contest on Thursday, before playing at West Texas A&M on Saturday at 2 p.m.
