Texas Tech suspends coach Mike Leach

LUBBOCK, Texas (AP) - Texas Tech coach Mike Leach has been suspended while the school investigates complaints from a player and his family about treatment after an injury.

The school said in a release Monday defensive coordinator Ruffin McNeil will be the interim coach and lead the team in the Alamo Bowl on Jan. 2 against Michigan State.

McNeil will remain in charge of the team until the investigation is complete.

The Red Raiders went 8-4 this season.

Tech might as well join the WAC, we will never win another Big 12 game. The Aggies, Longhorns and Sooners are calling all of our best recruits today (I know because my nephew is a 4 star WR that had committed to Tech)...

Yep, same Craig James. He cost SMU a program and now Leach his job. I guess if you can't buy your kid's way, you continue to coddle him.

Is this the same Craig James who was part of the SMU Football Program when the NCAA imposed the Death Penalty to their football program? Is he just mad that his son wasn't getting a new car and payoffs at Tech? I guess Craig has started deciding what is right and wrong in his older years! Go Red Raiders!

Tood,u are excatly right, kids been spooned feed his entire life, first off it's all bout playing time, which there's a reason the kid had to walk-on at TECH.and the thing that irrates me the most is daddy works for espn=Extra Sensitive Parenting Network, so of course they're gonna be bias towards daddy james. All i can say is good thing this kid didnt go into military, hed call daddy and tell him that man yelled, and made me do pushups? this has been blown way overboard, but what would u except from craig james, first he brings down smu,now he wants to do the same to tech, cause my boy isn't getting to play. this isn't pee wee my friend, and well ur son is 20 or 21 years old, grow up boy. Leach, i feel will likely lose his job over this.but i also feel somethings gonna happen with daddies job at espn,as well.

If it would have been someones elses kid besides the last name of James you would have never heard a word.Looks like someone needs a little attention.

Do I detect some whining on the part of Mr. James? Did his mom and dad coddle him? I'll bet the judge in Lubbock reinstates coach Leach by noon tomorrow!
