Southeastern baseball has been picked to finish fifth in the Lone Star Conference Preseason poll released on Thursday by the conference.
The Savage Storm picked up 233 points in the in the poll voting.
SE is coming off a 27-26 season with a 23-20 LSC record.
The Storm return just two position starters from last season and a total of three pitchers with 21 combined starts and an 8-9 record.
Offensively, SE returns its number three and four hitters from last season.
Abilene Christian topped the preseason poll with 352 points and 16 first-place votes, followed by Angelo State who claimed nine first-place votes and totaled 341 points to finish a close second in the voting.
Cameron, the defending regular season champions, collected four first-place nods and 308 points in third place.
Tarleton State finished fourth with 245 points and just ahead of the Storm
Central Oklahoma was picked sixth with 219 points, followed by Eastern New Mexico (176), Southwestern Oklahoma (146), Texas A&M-Kingsville (135 with one first-place vote), West Texas A&M (121 and a first-place nod), Northeastern State (105) and East Central (37).
Southeastern will open the season on Feb. 5-6 with a three game series against Southwest Baptist, with game one slated for 2 p.m.
