TULSA, Okla. (AP) - Cameron Seitzer and Garrett Buechele had big blasts as Oklahoma powered its way past Oklahoma State with five home runs Friday night to win the opening game of the Bedlam series 7-6.
Seitzer had a go-ahead two-run shot in the fifth inning as the Sooners (34-12, 11-9 Big 12) rallied back from an early four-run deficit by teeing off against Cowboys starter Tyler Lyons (3-5).
Lyons had allowed only five home runs all season before Oklahoma unloaded against him. Cody Reine, Chris Ellison and Seitzer each homered in a four-run fifth inning.
Buechele tacked on a two-run shot in the bottom of the seventh. That gave the Sooners enough breathing room to absorb Luis Uribe's pinch-hit two-run homer for Oklahoma State (26-19, 7-12) in the eighth.
Ryan Duke pitched a scoreless ninth to save the game for Zach Neal (7-1).
