The Austin College volleyball team split its two matches with Oklahoma City University and Texas College on Wednesday evening, falling 3-2 to OCU before cruising to a 3-0 victory over Texas College. The ‘Roos are now 9-7 overall this season.
In the first match, the ‘Roos fell to Oklahoma City 26-24, 20-25, 16-25, 25-16, 4-15. Shelby Eaves had a match-high 23 kills and added seven digs in the loss, and Madison Lee added eight kills. Kelsey Klingler had 42 assists and 10 digs, and Rachel Fusselman had 27 digs in the loss.
Against Texas College, the ‘Roos used 15 service aces and a team hitting percentage of .387 to win 25-12, 25-11, 25-9. Lee led the way with 11 kills and Eaves added nine and four aces, and Alyse Magnuson had 22 assists and seven aces in the match. Fusselman once again led the ‘Roos with 12 digs.
Austin College heads to Irving this weekend for a Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference event, where they’ll take on the University of Dallas on Friday and Colorado College and Centenary on Saturday.
