Collin Sefcik drove in three runs and Southeastern stole six bases on the day as the Savage Storm evened its season record with a 7-2 win over Northwood on Tuesday afternoon.
The win moved the Storm to 2-2 on the year with its next action slated for Feb. 11 when it hosts Northeastern State in a noon double-header.
Sefcik finished the day with three RBI on just one hit, while Trevor Bowen recorded the other RBI for SE.
Sefic and Bowen each collected a hit, as did Jacob Soisson, Jacob Carter and Cade Clay.
Chevis Springer and Cody Coats each stole a pair of bases, and Springer scored three times despite not collecting a hit.
Mathew Benedict got the start and snagged his first win of the season after tossing 5.0 innings and allowing a run on five hits with four strikeouts.
Jaime Paxton tossed 2.0 innings in relief and allowed just one hit while striking out one.
Jonathan Dailey followed for two-third of an inning, allowing an unearned run on one hit before handing the ball to Nick Johnson who tossed 1.1 innings, striking out two of the four batters he faced.
SE took advantage of a pair of NU errors in the first inning as Ryan Salter, Springer and Evan Ramsey would all score to mount a 3-0 lead.
Springer would score on a passed ball in the third inning to push that edge to 4-0.
The Knights would get one back in the bottom of the third, but a two-run Sefcik double in the seventh scored Springer and Clay to push the lead to 6-1.
Bowen would finish out the scoring with an RBI single that scored Carter, with NU picking up its final run in the bottom half of the inning on a passed ball to fashion the 7-2 final score.
