Southeastern's Laramie Beal has been named the Great American Conference Player of the Week following her performance in helping the Savage Storm to a sweep of Northwestern Oklahoma State, thus locking up the school's first GAC regular season championship.
She turned in a 5-for-8 effort at the plate for a .625 average over the four-game series, making the most of her at bats by collecting a pair of home runs.
Both of her home runs came on one game and she finished the weekend with five RBI. She also posted a 1.375 slugging percentage.
Beal reached base in 70 percent of her plate appearances and scored five runs in addition to the five she drove in.
The Storm will face Northeastern State on April 23 for a tune-up double-header before heading to Bentonville, Ark., for the Great American Conference Tournament held April 25-27.
