Southeastern's Jacee Bennett has been named the Great American Conference Pitcher of the Week following her performance in leading SE to a four-game sweep of Arkansas-Monticello.
The No. 5 ranked Savage Storm moved to the top of the Great American Conference standings with its sweep of UAM and lifted their overall record to 25-6 with a 10-2 league mark.
It is the third GAC weekly honor for Bennett and the fifth for SE this season, four of which have gone to pitchers.
She appeared in every game over the weekend and tossed 17.0 innings over four games and earning part of the decision in each one, finishing 3-0 with a save, pushing her season record to 14-3 on the year with six saves.
Bennett posted a 1.65 ERA on the weekend and posted a complete games.
Despite allowing 25 hits, she held the Cotton Blossoms to five runs, only four of which were earned, and in the process posted 14 strikeouts across form just three walks.
Bennett also posted a 2-for-3 effort at the plate with a run scored and an RBI.
Southeastern will be back on the field March 22-23 when it hosts Southern Nazarene for a four-game series.
