Southeastern's Greyden Blevins shook off the cold temperatures at the Lions Classic in Fort Smith, Ark., and sits as the overall leader while the Savage Storm currently sit in fifth after firing a 311 in the opening round of the tournament.
The cold had little effect on Blevins who went out with a 36 and returned on the back nine with a 34 to fire a 70 and lead the tournament individually by one stroke on the par-72, 6,574 yard Hardscrabble Country Club course.
Matt McIntosh also opened strong with a front-nine 36 and a back-nine 39 to card a 75 and sit in a tie for 10th.
Jeff Hunter found the going a little rougher after posting a first round mark of 81 to tie for 34th, while Marcos Sevilla Suarez posted an 85 and is tied for 46th.
Christopher George opened his tournament playing as an individual with a 77 and is tied for 19th.
The Storm will be back on the course for the remainder of the tournament on Tuesday.
