ADA – East Central University red-shirt freshman quarterback Spencer Bond has been recognized as The Oklahoman Player of the Week for Oct. 9 after his performance for the Tigers against Northwestern Oct. 6.
Bond completed 19-of-28 pass attempts for 226 yards and three touchdowns in ECU’s 41-3 homecoming win at Norris Field. The Madill, Okla., native also ran for one touchdown and had 21 rush attempts for 30 yards.
The Tigers had the best offensive game of the season, recording 450 yards of total offense, a team-best 224 yards rushing and 226 yards receiving. ECU garnered five touchdowns, the most on the season, and added two field goals.
The Tigers will return to Norris Field to defend their 10-game home-winning streak, Saturday, Oct. 13 against Southern Arkansas at 2 p.m. Fans are encouraged to join ECU Athletics and Zeta Tau Alpha in the Pink Out Game to support breast cancer awareness and educations by wearing pink.
