Cardwell Named to CoSIDA Academic All-District Women’s At-Large Team

East Central University women’s golf senior Ashley Cardwell is not done earning awards as a member of the Lady Tigers team. The Mustang, Okla., native was named to the 2012-13 CoSIDA Academic All-District Women’s At-Large First Team.

Cardwell is one of 13 members on the District 7 First Team that represent golf, tennis, swimming and field hockey teams. She is also just one of two members on the list from the Great American Conference.

Cardwell completed her bachelors in Math Education and a minor in Russian Studies at ECU this month and had a perfect 4.0 GPA.

In her final season on the links, Cardwell earned All-GAC Honorable Mention honors. She played in 10-of-11 tournaments for the Lady Tigers and led the team with an 82.8 average.

Besides her time studying and on the golf course, Cardwell was the ECU Honors Student Association Treasurer, an Honors Student Association Peer Mentor and Math Club Secretary.

Cardwell will now move on to be considers for CoSIDA Academic All-America Honors with all the other first-team honorees from the eight districts.
