Conor Costello cranked a three-run homer in the bottom of the fifth inning and Oklahoma State defeated Oklahoma 4-2 Thursday night to claim a tie for its first Big 12 regular-season title and the top seed in the conference tournament.
The Cowboys (40-13, 17-5) entered the night one game ahead of the TCU in the standings. TCU lost to Baylor in a game that ended just minutes before the Bedlam Series game ended at Chickasaw Bricktown Ballpark.
Jon Perrin (7-3) got the win for the Cowboys. He allowed seven hits and two runs in 7 1-3 innings. Brendan McCurry pitched a perfect ninth for his 16th save and Tanner Krietemeier had two hits for Oklahoma State.
Mac James and Hunter Haley each had two hits for Oklahoma (27-26, 7-15).
