The East Central University soccer team dropped a 0-2 decision to Northeastern State in the 2013 home opener at Lady Tiger Field.
The Lady Tiger (0-3) were led by freshman Lexi Hurley, who was named the Great American Conference Goal Keeper of the Week earlier in the day. Hurley tallied 11 saves in 90 minutes.
Junior Milan Galloway, senior Ashley Bradford and sophomore Krista Kahl all tallied two shots each.
The River Hawks (3-0) scored a goal in each period, by Jennifer Clark for the 0-2 win.
Northeastern State used a strong offensive presence to earn the win, recording 33 shots to 14 by the Lady Tigers.
ECU will remain at home for their next match, Sunday, Sept. 15 at 1 p.m. against Missouri Southern State.
Hurley earned her GAC honor after posting a goals-against average of 2.00 in contests against Colorado State-Pueblo and Colorado Springs. She recorded eight saves in 135 minutes of action last weekend.
