Lon Kruger wants to get Oklahoma's
half-empty arena buzzing again, and he's starting by reaching out
to the fans he thinks can have the biggest impact.
Kruger has been visiting student groups, fraternities and
sororities and even ate lunch in the cafeteria at a dormitory one
day while trying to find out what the Sooners can do to get the
student section filled up again.
On Thursday, he hosted a lunch for leaders of the fraternities
and sororities on campus at Oklahoma's Memorial Union to find out
what's been keeping them away.
Kruger says the basketball program is open to any suggestions.
So far, he's been asked about lowering ticket prices, moving the
student section closer to the court and providing shuttle buses to
the Lloyd Noble Center, located on the far south side of the
