Lady Tigers Run Rule Oklahoma Panhandle Twice

The East Central University softball team finished two more games in five innings, making it 14 games this season that the Lady Tigers have defeated opponents early. ECU earned two 9-1 wins over Oklahoma Panhandle State in non-conference action at Lady Tiger Field.

The Lady Tigers (33-9) were led by senior Shelby Simmons, who tallied a .800 average with four hits, two runs, a double, a triple and four RBIs. As a team ECU hit .521 for the day, including four doubles, three triples and a home run. No member of the team that earned an at-bat hit lower than .333 and had less than two hits for the day.

Freshman Lacey Paulk earned the win in the circle in game one, with a 0.00 ERA, four hits allowed, one run allowed (unearned) and struck out 10 batters. Senior Ali Manship pitched the second game, allowing four hits one run and striking out one.
