After the new turf project at Norris Field at East Central University started in February, the actual turf in now being laid. The project started with the removal of the old grass field surface, level and layers of sand and rock being laid.
The key step in the process has now started and the crews from FieldTurf Company are working quickly to lay the field surface. The field will have orange end zones and the Tiger Logo in the center of the field.
The $880, 300 surface, called Revolution, comes from FieldTurf Company, according to Stan Lewis of Architects in Partnership, P.C., of Norman.
A majority of the funding for the project comes from private donations from the Chickasaw Nation, Victor Page, Randall and Shirley Pogue, Wink and Rachel Kopczynski and Craig Scheef.
