Oklahoma State finishes first practice of season

Oklahoma State head coach Mike Gundy says his team had a lot of enthusiasm during its first practice of the 2013 season.

The Cowboys conducted the team's first practice of the year Friday on the grass fields adjacent to Gallagher-Iba Arena. Gundy says it was nice during the morning, but the team will start feeling the heat in the next few days.

Gundy says he looked for the little things during the team's first practice, like making sure guys are hustling, taking care of their helmets and paying attention. He says he concentrated on the fundamental parts of practice because players aren't wearing shoulder pads yet.

He says he watched the defensive line with its new players. Gundy says he also watched the freshmen regardless of what position they play.
