Oklahoma names assistant track and field coaches

University of Oklahoma track and field coach Jim VanHootegem has announced two new assistant coaches are being added to his staff.

VanHootegem says John Dagata will join OU as director of operations and as assistant coach in charge of vertical jumps and combined events. VanHootegem announced earlier this week that Kevin Tyler is joining the staff to coach sprints, hurdles and relays.

Dagata graduated from Cal State Northridge where he was a member of both the track and field team and the football team.

Tyler holds degrees from both Simon Fraser and the University of Toronto and was once a member of Canada's Olympic bobsled team.
