Baylor quarterback Bryce Petty is the AP Big 12 offensive player of the year, and joined on the first-team offense by two teammates from the league champion Bears who are also unanimous picks at their position.
The defensive player of the year is Jackson Jeffcoat, who had a Big 12-leading 12 sacks and whose 75 tackles are the most by a Texas defensive end in 19 seasons.
Petty got 18 of 20 votes Monday for top offensive player. The other two went to Texas Tech's Jace Amaro, the unanimous choice for tight end.
Baylor receiver Antwan Goodley and offensive guard Cyril Richardson were also first-team on every ballot.
Jeffcoat got 11 votes for top defensive player. TCU cornerback Jason Verrett, the only other unanimous defensive choice, got three.
