The Austin College football team fell in a 21-3 hole at halftime and was unable to climb out despite a big second quarter, falling 28-24 to Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference rival Trinity in the team's season finale on Saturday. The 'Roos finish the season with a 4-5 overall record.
The 'Roos out-scored the Tigers 21-7 in the second half including a last second touchdown pass from Travis Zambiasi to Braydon MaQuar, but the big first half deficit proved to be too much for the 'Roos. Zambiasi threw for 269 yards and a pair of scores and added 117 yards on the ground and Greg Harrell caught nine passes for 151 yards while Broc Boyd carried nine times for 54 yards and a touchdown.
MaQuar finished with nine catches for 68 yards and Ethan Tanner led the defense with 12 tackles. Kenneth Eneh, Evan Coachman and Josh Willis each had nine stops and Matt Finke had an interception in the loss.
