Southeastern used a shutout pitching performance in game one and a late-inning rally in game two to sweep a double-header on Saturday afternoon to complete a series sweep of Ouachita Baptist, taking game one 3-0 and game two 3-2.
The wins lift the Savage Storm to 7-5 overall and 4-2 in Great American Conference play.
Canyon Conley tossed a two-hit shutout in the opener, allowing two hits and a walk over nine innings while striking out nine.
At the plate, Springer connected on a pair of hits, including his solo homer, and finished 2-for-3 with two RBI and two runs scored.
Cade Clay, Chance Burcham, Jacob Soisson and Cody Coats each collected hits, with Burcham driving in the team's other run and Coats scoring a run.
SE got on the board first in the third inning as Coats beat a throw to the plate on a ball put in play by Springer.
That lead doubled in the sixth when Springer scored on a Burcham single up the middle.
Springer then connected on his first homer of the season, clearing the right field wall to stretch that Storm lead to 3-0 in the bottom of the eighth.
In the series finale, the Tigers jumped in front first, scoring a run in the top of the second on a single down the right field line, then later making the lead 2-0 with another RBI single to right in the fourth.
The Storm responded in the sixth, first when Carter scored on a fielding error by the OBU shortstop, and then one batter later when a Springer single brought in Bowen and Coats to take a 3-2 lead which would hold to be the final.
Carter finished the finale 3-for-3 with a run scored, while Springer and Burcham each added two-hit performances, while Springer recorded the team's lone RBI.
Dwight Camp got the start and tossed 5.2 innings, allowing a pair of runs on eight hits with four strikeouts.
Mathew Benedict came on in relief and picked up the win, his second of the season, despite tossing just one-third of an inning.
Mason Crenshaw then came on to finish the contest by tossing the final inning and allowing just one hit.
