Austin College men’s basketball player Josh Saunders has been named to the National Association of Basketball Coaches Honors Court, the organization has announced. In order to achieve this honor, players must be a junior or senior and maintain a grade-point-average of 3.2 or higher during the entire academic year.
Saunders, who just completed his junior year at Austin College, is an Environmental Studies major from Athens, Texas and is one of 14 players from the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference to earn this honor this year. In addition to his outstanding performance in the classroom, Saunders was also an All-SCAC selection last season.
The NABC honors players from all across the country in NCAA Division I, II, III and the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics as members of its Honors Court.
Austin College athletic teams participate as a member of the NCAA Division III and the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference.
