AUSTIN, Texas (AP) - The Texas Longhorns can help Baylor quarterback Robert Griffin's Heisman Trophy campaign. They can probably end it, too.
Griffin has emerged as a top Heisman contender and Saturday's Texas-Baylor game is his last before the trophy is awarded on Dec. 10.
Texas (7-4, 4-4 Big 12) has been playing some of the best defense in the country over the last month. A big game by Griffin could sway some Heisman voters to make him their top choice.
Texas players say they don't want to allow any big plays that could show up on Griffin's highlight film.
Griffin has passed for 34 touchdowns for No. 19 Baylor (8-3, 5-3). He ran for a touchdown and passed for two more in a win over Texas in Austin last season.
