Two SOSU baseball players earn All-American

DURANT, Okla. – Southeastern closer Heath Wyatt and outfielder Justin Miller have each been selected to the Russell/American Baseball Coaches Association All-America team.

Wyatt, a senior pitcher from Searcy, Ark., was a first team all-South Central Region pick as well as a first team all-LSC selection and matched the SE record with 16 saves, while posting a 7-4 record in 35 total appearances, also breaking his appearance record set in 2010.

He threw 100.1 innings on the year and posted a 2.06 ERA while holding opposing hitters to a .184 batting average and tallying 90 strikeouts.

Wyatt was also an All-American pick in 2010.

Miller, a senior outfielder from Sumner, Texas, was also a first team all-South Central Region pick as well as a first team all-Lone Star Conference pick and he led the Storm with a .433 batting average, collecting 87 hits with 21 doubles, two triples and a team-high 11 home runs.

He also added 47 RBI as well as 26 stolen bases. He slugged .721 on the season and posted an on-base percentage of .551 and scored 72 runs on the year.

The Savage Storm finished the year at 35-19 with a Lone Star Conference Championship and the school’s fourth trip to the NCAA Tournament.
