Women’s Tennis Returns Home for GAC Match

After going 3-2 a week ago, the East Central University women’s tennis team will be at the ECU Tennis Courts, Saturday, March 23 for a 1:30 p.m. match with Arkansas Tech.

The Lady Tigers (3-4, 1-0 GAC) played five matches last week after being idle for two weeks. Saturday’s match starts the bulk of the ECU season. The Lady Tigers will play 11 matches over the next month.

The Golden Suns are currently 5-3 overall and 3-0 in the GAC after winning their last four matches, all at home. ATU has not been on the road since Feb. 24 and is 1-2 when playing away from home this season. The Golden Suns last match was a 9-0 win over John Brown (March 14).

Besides members of the conference the teams have one common non-conference opponent so far this season in Northwest Missouri State. ATU fell 0-5 to the Bearcats, while the Lady Tigers fought to a 3-6 decision.
