AC's Listol named All-American 1st Team

11-13-07 - Kaitlin Listol has been named to the American Volleyball Coaches Association All-America First Team, it was announced today. Listol, who last season was an Honorable Mention All-American, becomes the first player in Austin College volleyball history to be named First Team All-America.

Listol, a native of Richardson, has enjoyed one of the most decorated seasons in Austin College history in 2007. Along with being named First Team All-America, she was also named First Team All-Region, First Team All-Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference, as well as the SCAC Player of the Year. During the season she was twice named the SCAC Player of the Week and was a member of the SCAC All-Tournament Team, and was also named Second Team Academic All-District by ESPN the Magazine.

During the season she broke the SCAC single season record for kills, and also shattered the Austin College career record. She led the SCAC in both kills per game and hitting percentage, and is eighth nationally in hitting percentage and 12th in kills per game. With Listol leading the attack, the ’Roos finished their season leading the country in both kills per game and hitting percentage and also broke a school record with 38 victories while advancing to the NCAA Tournament for the third straight season.
